We are a
member of the ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International), a
worldwide umbrella organisation representing 5 285 schools across the globe.
There are
73 ACSI schools in South Africa (24 in Gauteng), of which The King's School
West Rand is the only South African school which is Internationally Accredited at
present.
International
Accreditation is awarded to schools that comply with a stringent
monitoring process and a thorough site evaluation from an international
delegation. Schools that achieve this Accreditation are listed on
the ACSI Website,
which many tertiary institutions use as a resource to evaluate
potential candidates and the validity of the school
qualifications.
We hold
ourselves accountable to the ideals expressed by ACSI
and strive to meet these within the framework of the South African education
system.
As a school
we embarked on the process of international accreditation in May 2005, an
exhaustive school evaluation that culminated with a site visit in February
2008. The visiting team’s accreditation report indicates the
scope and nature of the school’s performance against 10 critical outcomes.
On the 31st July 2009, we received
the following confirmation:
BREAKING NEWS FROM ACSI HEAD QUARTERS:
It is our pleasure to notify ACSI South Africa that
the International Accreditation Commission of ACSI has awarded ACCREDITATION
to The King’s School West Rand.
The term of accreditation is for Reception year through Grade 12 and is
effective January 1, 2009 through January 31, 2014.
On behalf of the ACSI Executive Board Accreditation Commission we
congratulate Mr. Ken Langley, the school board, and faculty for attaining this
recognition from ACSI.
